Talk of Timesplitters 4 is starting to be heard.

a bit of timesplitters history:
Timesplitters - (ps2) 2000
Timesplitters 2 - (Ps2) 2002
Timesplitters: Future Perfect - (PS2) 2005

Crytek snatched up Free Radical in 2009 after they were forced into administration following the failure of its PS3-exclusive shooter Haze. The studio was then rebranded as Crytek.
Crytek last job was to handle the multiplayer portion of Crysis 2. They also produced the other three games in the series and Free Radical is still handling the development.

videogamer.com reports that the graphics on TimeSplitters 4 are noticeably improved over current generation technology, with the DX11 tessellation effects allegedly having a huge impact on the visuals. Crytek believes that the game - and CryEngine 3 itself - will be seen as the cornerstone of next-generation development.
Crytek has invested heavily in DirectX 11 development primarily to focus on the new consoles, with the upcoming DX11 patch for the PC version of Crysis 2 being used internally as a benchmark of anticipated hardware trends.
As for the game itself, the new TimeSplitters is reported to focus on the series' branching paths and exploratory nature, with sandbox-style gameplay elements a big priority. The current goal is for levels to feature multiple routes that lead to the same overall conclusion.
Speculation about TimeSplitters 4 has been running since 2007. Since its initial announcement the game was even pegged to be a Wii-exclusive before languishing in development hell and being put on hiatus in 2009.

Timesplitters 4 being unofficially announced, is also said to be coming out for the Xbox 720 and the PS4.  Not the current gen platforms that we all love.
How much of this is true, nobody knows. I'm sure we all hope this is true, and hopefully TimeSplitters 4 will be made for PS3 and Xbox 360 as well.

Crytek have come out and announced that they’re not working with new xbox technology
But does that mean they really need the new xbox technology to start working on a game?  I don't think so.  They could easily work on the game on their super PCs and then mod it for the Xbox 720 or whatever it will be called.
Rumors speculating that developer, Crytek may have their hands on the next-gen Xbox, have been going around. Crytek shuts those rumors down. A recent press release by Crytek stated that they do not have any next generation hardware from Microsoft. The full press release can be read below:

Relating to the recent rumours, Crytek do not have any next generation hardware from Microsoft, nor do we know when Microsoft may announce future hardware or what that hardware will entail.
Crytek are working at pushing the boundaries of what current technology can bring, including our focus on DX11 which will be released shortly as an update for Crysis 2, and we believe this work, added to our estimations of what the new hardware will provide, set up CryENGINE as a next generation engine for all consoles.

This message was sent from Crytek to IGN.

So it appears that everything going around on the web about Crytek making Timesplitters 4 for the new Next Gen consoles, is pure speculation.

But I didn't find anything about them not working on Timesplitters 4 at all, just that they aren't working with next gen Microsoft hardware.

Maybe we'll hear more about Timesplitters 4 in the coming months... or maybe not?
