Reality is where the pizzaman comes from.

I was actually watching out for a new PC, as I've become 18 today... but there was no decent stuff, and I saw Red Faction: Guerrilla for 10 bucks, so I got it.

Basically a GTA: Mars goes Mercenaries 2. Lots to explore. Graphics are very nice, despite the fact that Mars is mostly brown-orange. Also, the whole environment is destructable! Haven't played much of it but I'm thinking this is gonna be a fun game.  Tongue

Well happy birthday. Smiley

The game is made by the same company that did Saints Row and Saints Row 2.  From the demo of it I played a while ago, it looked like non-stop destruction from the title screen to the end credits. Cheesy Didn't look like there was much else except constant destruction. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Thanks.

And yeah, it's a destruction fest actually. The mission system reminds me of JC2 somewhat. You collect points by destroying hostile buildings, and then unlock new missions, as soon as hostile control over an area is at zero. Seems slightly repetitive so far, but I haven't completed much missions. It's definitely nothing "revolutionary" in terms of open world action, especially compared to several milestones like JC2, but I think for 10 bucks it's pretty good, and the environment is a bit different which is quite cool. I do get tired from the enormous amount of brown in the game at some points. But it's part of the atmosphere, so...

I wish they'd make a free roam game on a gas planet, like Neptune or so. That's be entirely new gameplay. Floating cities or so, and the ability to dash through the massive atmosphere with some sort of vehicle, sounds amazing to me. R&C I think is the only game so far that suggests a concept like that (They've created very inventive planets anyway... think of Smolg or Kerwan, then the poison-filled Orxon and my personal favorite: Pokitaru).
