This is my newest map - it is nearly finished, there are the spawns and some minor details to complete before publishing Smiley

It's quite a small map, but very detailed. I have used occ. everywhere to keep the performance in the green (ish), which it kinda does.

Needless to say it's a cathedral, which features all the usual architecture - decorative gothic ceiling, ornate windows, crypt, mausoleums etc.

I hope you like it, without further ado, here are some pics

Thanks guys Smiley

@DEEZ, it doesn't lag as far as I can tell, I've used a LOT of occ. and the performance sneaks into the yellow here and there, mostly in the green I'm relieved to say, so it should play quite well....I hope.

@Neg, you're absolutely right, 'Temple' by Anasteneth - I was in awe of what that guy did, and wanted to do something inspired by that, I know I'm nowhere near the 'unlimited' splendour of his map, but if it's a tenth as good, even a hundreth, I'll be super happy Smiley

LOL, mine isn't quite finished yet, so you've got time to beat me to the finishing line  Wink

Are you kidding? If I started now, I'd be lucky to be half done by next month.

I do have a very early version started at this point though. (Read: One giant arch.)

I'm no good at those sweet looking details like you did, I'd only be able to make the really big structures.

Maybe we ought to do a co-op map. I do the big easy parts, and you do all the difficult detailing. 50/50 LOL

LOL, so you'll design a super smooth, simple, elegant structure, and I'll fill it full of junk and laggy details and ruin the performance then?  Cheesy

OK, it's a deal!  Grin

Joking aside though, it would be great to work a co-op with you Neg - just say when, and I'll join ya  Smiley

can't wait to check that one out.  Yeah, it looks just like that contest map.  But what's important is this one is playable and on the ps3.  I heard that contest map was way larger than the ps3 would ever let you build something though so only very few could actually play it.  I believe maxpower told me about it in a post, he posted the video for it in.
Speaking of co-op maps... did you build anything in that map yoz?  I want to hand it to KC-350Z for a bit, then get the map laid out before I give it to ColaBoy and do some final touches on it.

its on negrumirs you tube account....
and i believe the pc has a 150,000 points limit and the ps3 40,000

i completed the co-op map in the same day you gave it me and then my internet was gone(the wife does the admin. in the house) so it make take 1 more week before i can get back online because of the remote location of my new house, i got internet on a usb now and i tried getting online on my ps3 whit it and  cant install the software...i can try 2 give it Saturday, we can set a time and arrange something i just don`t wan to drag everything over to my family and not meeting you for it because that would be the only reason to take it (and we all know how much you like burgers and beer Cheesy )

Thanks for the comments everyone Smiley

@PBS, thanks, I learned a lot about occ. from you sir Wink

@yoz, I've had FC2 on the pc for some time now, I remember looking forward to making an unlimited showcase map, but whenever I started the editor, my pc crashed Sad
I kept trying and it kept crashing - every time - I was heartbroken, I haven't figured out a reason why, maybe I never will, but I'm very pleased with this map for the PS3 - looking forward to being sliced and diced when you get back on Smiley

@DEEZ, thanks cap'n, it is quite different structurally (being a lot smaller and having a roof), but I have copied....erm, borrowed....I mean been unspired by the styling of Anasteneths map, and it is most definitely playable Smiley

@Max, thanks for posting the vid of Anasteneths map, everytime I see that vid, I'm blown away  Wink - it's truly amazing. I would think you'd need a real high-flying, gaming PC to play it. It is a huge map, and incredibly detailed. I aimed for something in a similar, gothic style, but much smaller, and with a roof, although there is some small exterior areas where the 'team' mausoleums are.
There is a crypt with stair/ladder access too - I'm very pleased with the crypt, it looks very creepy, I managed to even scare myself down there whilst testing lol.

Should be finished in the next few days Smiley

CDG Cathedral is now published, and I will be hosting it in a short while for some testing.

I will also be hosting the TOTM maps too, anyone who wants to join is most welcome Smiley

[*edit*] I may be a little longer hosting Smiley

Depends on how much longer you're hosting, but I might jump on and get some games in if you're still hosting.
