Yea, I'm slowly wading through homework trying to find time to play a game or two. It's getting pretty hard.

In a week or two I'll hopefully be able to look through some of these maps.

Hi all, doubtless you would of guessed I'm new here. I'm not a particularly good map maker and here are some of my pitifully attempts at some maps:
golden gate bridge
highway 2 hell
terror town
HOTEL CALIFORNIA

p.s I'm having a problem on the bridge in that on the second tier and other places you can see straight through the concrete is there anyway to stop this and if so how?
P.P.S try not to laugh to hard when you see my maps  Tongue

Hi Cherub! Grin

If you want to be a better map maker, try to download a bunch of cool maps and see how they are built.
Put together some of the ideas and try make your own maps.
In time you will get better.
I have done this for some of my maps, and they turned out to be pretty good.

It really is best if you can come up with new original ideas. But that's not so easy if you don't learn a little about mapmaking first.

Tip: I usually hide the hollow places underneath stuff with colonial fences. They are best when you use concrete objects. Wink

Thanks man that ought to help!
well it helped until i maxed out the 40000  limit! Thanks for the tip. NEW RELEASES BY ME:
Slumin' It
Pools Of Blood

Slumin' It is great close quarter combat and snipers can get some punishment down from 3 areas

Pools Of Blood uses platform 3 and side walk to create a 6 section massacre with in the pool area, changing room, pump room, lounge and others good fun and in my opinion the best I have made

Well my three newest maps, here they come:

Crumbled Carnival v2: My entry for the TOTM of february on fcmaps.net, which seemed to have won (or second, couldnt get that quitely) when gameplay was the only factor measured by the judges Tongue. The changes with v1 are the extra escape routes from the upper mazefloor (including a possible exit through the roof) some small things altered in a better way and the biggest change is that the Cave-Cafe (as I would call it) is also climbable, so Snipers have an extra place to shoot people out of the rollercoaster!!!

Cardhouse Market: Still in development, but the beta is published already. A rectangle market filled for about 90% with breakable shanty's. Creating a perfect route is neccesary, especially in CTD, where this map is actually build for. The building in the middle holds the only two grenade turrets of the map, making it a decisive stragetic point for CTD matches, as you can blow up most of the shanty's on your opponents side to allow a jeep to get through or to prevent the oponnent from getting your side quick by walking over de shanty's roofs... and many more things to do, you just have to see for yourself.

Crimson Hideout: A hideout hidden in a small cave next to a canyon. UPR has a base on the edge of the Jungle, UFLL on the edge of the Savannah, the Hideout and the canyon are in between. UFFL has a perfect sniping spot next to his base, while the APR has a better exit fom their base to the middle of the map, and more places to hide. Therefore, while played on both sides, I haven't really noticed a strong advantage of one of the sides... It's how you play that makes the difference.

-----------------------

Currently in development / Plans made but not started on yet.

- Crimson Ridges: As the name would expect, this map will look alot like the Hideout level. Except for that this time the Canyon is the main area and the canyon will be bigger and more accesible; while the Jungle base will disappear and the base will be moved tot the far ends of the canyon. Also, I'm planning to fill the canyon with water and make some of the ridges wider, so vehicles can dominate land, water and sky. Have made a few attempts for a few minutes but cant find the feeling yet, need to gain some inspiration after I finished the Hideout level.

-"Project tropical": As I might become member of a clan, the name will appear in the map. Furthermore, its an idea I had in mind for a while, untill I discovered ColaBoy's awesome Coastmap. Although I'm going to make it look more like a beach area on a tropcial island, so the difference will be noticable clearly.

So far so good, I'll let you guys know when anything else comes up.

"Air Fort III v0.2" is published now. Added fences to make it a bit easier. Not sure, but i think it the fences might spoil
shooting action.

Two new maps by me-
Time Capacitor: see the story behind this in the April potm thread.
War Machine Mobile: Giant destructive behemoth of war bears down mercilessly on a tiny village, see the giant trail of destruction left behind the great whopper of a machine. inspired by AC/DC's new album black ice, the fact that i went to an ac/dc on 14 of april and their son War Machine.

I'm going to an AC/DC consert soon. Grin
Tried to get tickets for Metallica too.

Over to FC: I'm glad you don't have any guns in the War machine. Just kidding
I haven't looked on the other map, but I will.
