As some of you might know, there's been a game called "All Points Bulletin", which was a massive online open world turf war game.
Shortly after it's release, all servers have been shut down due to lack of customers.
A company then bought the rights for APB and decided to re-launch APB as a free game during 2011. Closed Beta is currently running, open beta coming soon.

http://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/Basically this looks like GTA IV in the style of SR2, as there's such things as character customization. I don't expect a vast amount of vehicles though. But it might be worth playing, considering it's completely free of charge.
