Reality is where the pizzaman comes from.

An open world action game the developers describe as "a mix between everything, GTA, Saints Row, etc."
It caught my attention mainly due to the fact it plays in Hong Kong, a city never seen in an open world game before. The game world looks very good and very detailed from the videos I've seen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEjF-bMaAlI

The hand-to-hand combat seems to get it's comeback in this game. I have barely seen any games with good hand-to-hand combat in the recent time, whereas this system certainly looks like there'll be tons of moves, animations, etc. It seems to heavily emphasize the hand-to-hand combat, but there's also a lot of driving and shooting, or both at the same time. Cool bullet-time effects, also some good interaction with objects in the game world.

See the video for some impressions. I am personally stunned mainly by the city environment.

Yeah, I believe it's gonna be much better.

Have you ever played True Crime L.A. or True Crime N.Y.? These games had some harsh fighting scenes. The moves were bada$$.

Graphics look good.  Too bad it's not a multiplayer FPS with a map maker.

I like the city environment.

And oh well, not every game can be a FPS with a map maker.  Tongue

As for me, I'm also in for a 3rd person shooter. As long as it's open world.

i like guns Grin Tekken was the first game on ps i got and loved that one
if its got that kind of stuff in a open world i would be interrested in getting the game..

if its only one or two action buttons only then i might not...

it looks like there is plenty of stuff ito explore.....hong kong is a nice touch2

If it's open world, that would be cool.  We'll have to see when it gets closer to coming out.

This game is officially cancelled. Wow. Absolutely ridiculous. Activision apparently dropped the development of it to focus more on making another CoD. Firstly, they were almost done with the game, I do not understand why they dropped it. And then it's absolutely ridiculous that they would rather work on CoD, because there are enough CoD games already. Sure, Activision may be not dumb, because they perfectly know CoD will bring them more profit, as there are millions of "OMG OMG OMG I WANZ COD!!111!!!1"-fanboys who would probably sell their parents for the game. Haha. But dumb enough to scrap a big, almost finished project that might have turned out THE game of 2011, and not target a different audience.

I heard Avctivision  canceled a lot of games. I heard this a while back when they mentioned they canceled the Guitar Hero series entirely. I kinda forgot that the list included TC:HK... So it's because they need extra time to cash all the checks for CoD -er... I mean "work on a new one" *cough*Just-re-package-the-old-one*cough*  That's a pretty bitch move. I think the CoD franchise is a noob magnet that breeds nothing but cheaters, whiners, and people who feel they have a right to everything just from playing a game. I'm not saying all CoD players are like this though. I never seem to stop hearing about how "amazing" CoD is, why such-and-such a game doesn't have what CoD has, how every game in existence has stolen ideas from CoD. *sigh*

Bitch move, yeah. Perfect word. And yeah, CoD appears to be a heavy noob magnet, but I actually think shooters in general are noob magnet games. There aren't as much noobs on non-competitive open world games like GTA as on games like FC2, CoD, hell even on KZ3 there's noobs clustered nearly everywhere. lol Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying everyone who plays shooters is a noob. But there are many.

But what bugs me in particular: There were already 7 CoD games with most apparently the same concept. But what about True Crime? There's 2 of them. Okay, and they both played in common cities seen in open world games. So what about open world games playing in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Moscow or some other unique place...? There are ZERO of them.

So instead of going for something really really unique, good looking, actually something that is completely NEW to the entire (!) gaming community, Activision chooses to go for an old concept, as old as the hills, and refresh it a tiny bit, just to satisfy some stubborn, narrow-minded noob heads. Excuse me, but COME ON! The CoD concept is worn out. Give us something new! May JC2 once again - even though it's far from flawless - be the best example for that. It WAS something new... It WAS something unique.

So much for a rant from someone who never actually played CoD but already has enough of it, just by hearing of it (mostly bad stuff). Sure, the SP may be really good, I did play the black ops demo and I did like it, but I don't get this whole unnecessary hype around it, WHAT is it that makes the game soooo f*king "amazing". I was really really excited for TC:HK, because that infact looked like something amazing. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. There was a whole open world gamer community that waited for it.

WHAT is it that makes the game soooo f*king "amazing"

Well...

Easy kills, two to three shots with most guns. - Noobs love easy kills.
Shoot through walls. - see above.
Ability to carry the best weapons at any time. - above... again.
Camping. - Yup, same as first.
Really fast paced gameplay. (spawn, die, spawn, die, repeat)
Jump-scoping, 360 no-scopes, fancy stuff. I'll admit, I like it too.
Oh and a good amount of blood and cursing. - Makes it more "edgy" and "mature."

Cheesy

[sarcasm] Okay, that's a really amazing feature. [/sarcasm] If everyone has the same weapons at the same time, it may be ok... like instagib or so.

Well, in its defense the weapon balance is pretty good. (not to say anything about perks or killstreaks which I think are trash)
The movement of the player is very smooth and the controls are precise. I also applaud them for having it run at a smooth 60fps at all times. It's a pretty good game at its core elements. Sadly they tacked on all this extra crap and the net code is done in such a way that it lags like a bitch. This is even more of a problem given how fast it plays. It's the game for sure, and not my connection. Example, Halo. Same connection, the game run brilliantly online. High speed games? Cube 2, it doesn't get a lot faster than that and I only have lag issues with specific players, not entire matches.

If they brought it down to the core elements, created a spawn system (let's face it: CoD never even had one), made maps less camp-happy, and fixed up their network system (dedicated servers if necessary) it'd be a really good game.

@Undead
You don`t have one COD game?? And you have such a strong opinion about the game...
20 million sales tell a different story, you should try it out some time and give it a fair chance.(cod4)

About the activision/tch deal is really stupid, there are some intern problems at activision whit employee`s i think.
It looked like a fun game, So no Hong Kong then... Angry
