    Its published: CDG Broadcast

My new project is the remake of COD4 Broadcast from the map pack.

The lay out is coming along perfectly for me and all the rooms and ways to go are in the map. This is one of my favorite maps from COD4 from looks to gameplay.
There is still a lot of work left on the map,

Its probably going to be impossible to get the detailing exactly matching because of all the little details activision used in the map.
i do think that any one that knows the map from COD4 will instantly recognize the map and feel right at home  Cheesy

The lay out is around 6 grids including the different levels of playable field overall.
Its around 19k limit at the moment
    rooms left for detailing:
    • Media room
    • Server room
    • green room
    • archive

i`m really not good at detailing the map so any input is more then welcome and thank you bongo for having a go at it Grin
And i would love to have the CDG logo in the floor in the main lobby and a camera above it Wink Wink Wink

    spot the 10 differences

    Nice!
Any CoD4 map is classic.  Looks good from the images.  If you catch me online, after I finish my beach map, I'll help you with that one.
You've got to make sure you can jump out on the carports from that one building out in the middle, and climb up through the window from out side.  All of the little sneaky ways you can get around in the normal map.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

thanks for helping me out whit the logo... Grin

cant wait to get it published but i must be patient and really get it spot on (try at least... Smiley.)

I was blown away by the high level of attention to detail in the construction - and even though I'm not familiar with CoD, I think it looks spectacular.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful yoz, in reagrds to authentic CoD detailing - I wish I had played the game now, because your map is extraordinary - the lobby area is remarkable, and although it isn't fully detailed yet it looks amazing - it is a masterpiece. There's even a little toilet, just off the lobby - undoubtedly where I shall be spending a lot of time lol  Grin

Thankyou for showing me around yoz  Smiley

i started on all the door post and windows and started on the media room an already got a better look after some small changes Smiley

and now that you got the crosshair its time to start no-scoping and spray some bullets as you please Wink
makes fighting a little easier for you in the future Wink

LOL...dang, you spoilt my surprise (j/k)  Wink  Grin

Yeah, how dumb am I?? lol

All this time I've been playing the game I never realised what you all meant by 'crosshairs' - I mean I know what they are, I just assumed you all meant the ones you see through scoped weapons  Shocked
But no!! Yoz suggested I looked in the game options, and there they were!!  Grin

No wonder all you guys are sharp-shooting demons when no-scoping lol, mind you....just think what I could do now - I've had to learn the weapons without crosshairs, I could be a sharp-shooting, super assassin, I'll have to change my name from bongobreak to number 47 lol  Grin

Or it might not make a scrap of difference and I'll still be average lol  Cheesy

Smart money's on the latter  Wink

I seriously have no idea how you didn't find out about the crosshairs...
Did you play the singleplayer at all? They're on by default on the easier difficulties I think.

I saw from your videos you didn't use it. I thought you were just good like that. lol

Ah well, now you can see how terribly inaccurate the weapons are in this game. Tongue

The best use for it is spotting hiders and campers 'cause it turns red when you point at them. (For my safety I shouldn't have told you though. lol)

On topic, this map sounds neat. I only played CoD 4 a little bit but never saw this map. It'll be a new experience for me.

Yeah, I've been using crosshairs since the beginning.
And now that they have hardcore mode, I don't think they turn red anymore.
But before they would turn red even if your opponent is behind a building.

Nah they still turn red. You just need a direct line of sight to the enemy.

Before it used to display their names when you looked at them, even through walls.

i turn off the aim assist and crosshairs. the aim does more damage to me than anything else. and the crosshairs take up to much of the screen for my type of gameplay.

And after i pointed it out, Bongo no-scoped me three times in a row whit the dart rifle...LOL
it took me 3 years to find out, your not alone.... Smiley

and it took me 3 years to change any settings in the editor...
every time i stuck something in the ground the camera followed... Angry Angry Angry that****me up a few times
and auto snap always ON...glad that's behind me Cheesy

is it better to make a 'double' wall whit a OCC block in the wall, rather then a single set of a colonial fences?
I'm not sure if adding a lot extra fences is worth it...

I stick occlusion blocks anywhere they can fit.  Usually a double platform3, even though you only need 1, I just like to make sure there will be no glitching.

i turn off the aim assist and crosshairs....

    There's an aim assist aswell?!?
Oh crap .... I really should look in the game options more often LOL

Yeah that camera movement was really annoying, and also that 'objects moving with terrain' thing too - man I hated that until I figured out how to turn it off lol

If you can make a double wall and place occ. blocks in between without compromising the design, I'd say definitely do it.
I had a very similar problem on a map of mine a few weeks back (which reminds me - I've got to finish and publish it Smiley )
PBS helped me a lot, and I also redesigned parts of it to include double walls and occlusion - it was quite a lot of work, but ultimately worth it.

Your map didn't lag though yoz, and if it did, it wasn't noticeable - but then again it wasn't fully detailed, and it was just us two in there wandering around mostly - except for when we started sniping each other in the car park LOL  Grin

I'm really looking forward to seeing this one finished - it's going to be a sure-fire classic Smiley

Aim assist blows.  It draws your gun away from opponents when you're trying to aim at somebody else.
I haven't tried no scoping with it though.

If theres something really laggy near the walls, then yes.
