I saw that at the store too. So tempting... Just Cause 2, BF:BC2, FFXIII... I need more time to play all these games. Smiley

I think once you start playin' JC2 no other games will bother you.  Tongue
No seriously, it's awesome.

I reckon by now you've played a bit? How do you like it?

After an hour or so I must say, grapple hooks need to be implemented in every game.  Grin

Well the graphics are absolutely beautiful all around. Except for people up close, they look like crap. Facial expressions and movements are really ugly. Voice acting is pretty bad. lol If the microsoft sam text to speech program had the voice tone of Niko Belic (minus the accent) you get what scorpion sounds like rofl

But!

I don't give half a crap about voices or story plot points or whatever, I'm here to shoot up Panau in grand style and generally tie every single one of it's inhabitants to a palm tree.  Cheesy
It plays really well and (apart from the times it wiggs out and doesn't quite take me where I point) the grapple hook is my new best friend. Smiley The weapons aim well and are powerful. At the moment I've only done one mission outside of the intro missions and am just bombing around the city. Once I find a decent mode of transportation I'll probably buzz around the whole doggone island before I do more missions. Definitely my type of game.

The video capture is nice but pretty bare bones. Basically you can select "Start recording" to start and hit "Stop" when you're finished, then you have the option to save to the hard drive or publish to youtube. I'm just saving them so I can transfer to my PC and add music later. Cheesy

You also have the option to have it always recording the last 30 second of gameplay so if something random happens I can save it, no problem.

Simply put: I'm enjoying it immensely.

Cheesy Now you know why I am the self-proclaimed "Grapple junkie". It's simply a unique device used in many unique ways.

You had any "Pinata kills" yet? Tether an enemy to a ceiling and lash him with the grapple before he touches the ground again. Cheesy
Voice acting is okay (I'm playing the german version on the PC; the voice acting in the demo, which I played in english was indeed annoying).

Yeah, actually I've done only a few agency missions or so, then went free roaming again. I dunno when I'll play the next mission.  Tongue

Have you found the flyable blimp yet? Cheesy

I really haven't found anything yet.

Your latest vid is pretty sweet by the way. LOL at yanking a guy through a phone booth.  Smiley

Also the under water in this game looks amazing.

Just doing random stuff eh?  Cheesy  Tongue

Thanks. That thing with the phone booth actually happened by pure incident. I LOL'd at it properly.  Cheesy

Yeah, the surface looks brilliant too. Best looking water since Crysis.
And it doesn't only look good - it's pretty useful too. If you're surrounded by enemies and want to lose heat, the water is your number 1 place to hide.

I'm loving this game.

something i got 2 ask, sometimes after a mission or causing enough chaos, the is a messages stating "military securyti increased",
does that mean that there will be more military around at the bases? That would suck as they already spawn in randomly when heatlevel is up.

And it would also mean that even small villages will get major military support if I get even further into the game, already experienced it.

It means you can reach a higher heat level maximum. At the beginning there are 2 heat levels, then you can have 4 and finally 5.
Thus more military will be there of course.  Tongue

hmmm, that means I should have done the large facilities first with less heat if I wanted to have it easy Tongue

I had level 4 heat, there were like 4 heli's around me, and I was in the water, and died Cheesy

You can only lose heat if u leave for a while I guess, killing the soldiers only makes the heat level go up, so what happens to me is, I just basicly try to complete a settlement as fast as possible before I die, and usualy end up using a tank or heli :p So there's little room for being creative. Although U can be when u've got no heat, I always take out the sam sites first.

I just realized the Grenade launcher is one-handed... Holy Funk! Dual-wielding Grenade launchers!? That is a recipe for constant explosions and not a whole lot of alive guys.

It's just made of win.

You know what? I just finally beat the story.

I wasn't expecting it to be that short.

Almost the entire time I've been playing has been spent just trashing around Panau. I decided to advance the story a bit and BAM! It's over. At least it didn't drag on and on with the main antagonist getting away over and over.

Still, it seems like they spent so much time making the world awesome that they forgot to include a story.

Also found this on the JC2 forums. Pretty neat bit of information. Though not useful in any way. Check out the bit on the right side of the page.  Shocked I'm also fairly certain that this might be inaccurate as I've played quite a few of these games and I doubt that burnout is bigger that stuff like San Andreas...  Ah well, could be wrong.

Nice image.  But that far cry 2 play area is actually twice that size, considering that they have two of them.
