Box.net is a site for sharing files. It allows you to upload your files for others to download.
I haven't used it myself so I can't say too much about it. Plus I'm not even sure if it's Box.net or thebox.net or something else. lol

@ Neg, isn't that sort of like 'seedboxes'? Or are they something entirely different?

Man, I just found a new funk artist and listened to some of his tunes. They brought a wide grin to my (currently) evil face.

They've had some vocal parts in them, but that did not bug me, as the instrumental parts were a plain overkill of epic win.

Like, 5% of jazz and 95% of pure Funk.

Nils Landgren - House Party
Nils Landgren - What's up, What's up

Two ass-kicking funk tunes.

I just found an awesome, somewhat futuristic/spacey Electronica-P-Funk Groove. Not jazzy at all, and not much improvisations in there either, but I still like it, it's got an awesome bassline and an awesome beat that made my foot tap. Grin

Unlike many other Jamiroquai' songs, this one is instrumental, which is also why I like it.

You don't really have to be a funk diehard to like this. It's basically a crossover track between Funk/P-Funk, electronica and some (but not too much) Hiphop... so if you like one of those, you should check this track out.

That's a pretty nice track.  I'm jammin' it right now.  That would make a good soundtrack for a gaming video.

When playing SR2 a while ago, I noticed some sort of music playing in the Ultor Mall (who knows why I didn't notice anything earlier).
Most of it wasn't any good, but there were 2 particular jazz tracks that literally caught my ears' attention.

I was searching for them like a maniac; which would rarely ever happen to me, but these grooves totally got me. And I found both today and can't stop listening to them. Tongue

They were neither mentioned as a part of the official soundtrack, nor could they be found on the SR2 website, I found a little reference in the SR2 credits and then bumped into a production music site which has tons of libraries, so I started listening to 200+ tracks until I found the right ones. If you say I'm crazy then you're probably right. Tongue

But you found them right?
Post a link.  Or use them in your next video.

Yeah, and I still can't get enough of them. They're pretty short, the first one is 2:38 and the other one is just 2:18, but they're musical gems to me.

I'm by 100% sure though, that nobody here would consider them anything special, or even like them. They're too 'jazzy' to be popular.

I think I'm going to expand my musical likings. Aside from Jazz Funk I think I found a second favorite music genre, which is Jazz House. I've never been into House actually. Until I heard this track on SR2, in a shop. Man, the world of SR2 is full with musical gems I haven't even remotely noticed before.

Going to explore SR2's locations a bit more, just to find some good music.  Tongue

Jazz and house together? Sounds like a great idea. Smiley I wonder where else someone might be able to check out some similar music of that type?

This is cool. Smiley

And of course, this is probably my favorite soundtrack from any game. It goes in every playlist and I listen to it all the time. It never gets old for me.

Listened for a bit to both of them.

I mean I do try to have an open mind towards all musical directions, but sometimes I really have to struggle with it, especially when I hear something like that first tune, with the green background. Now don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against any musical likings, but to me that one sounds terrible, just... not my style, to be perfectly honest.

The second tune, though, is probably a ton of times better than the first one. It's a similar style, but it's melody kinda harmonizes way more than that from the first one, and there's some structure to it.
Also, you know for instance JC2 tune from the Mile High Club as well. I actually consider it bearable, and it has some hit potential.

But that "Techno Disco"... seriously. Only thing missing there is 50 people on dope clustered in one room, hopping to it like crazy.  Lips Sealed Sorry, I had to say that...  Tongue
