First of all, I know there's a PS3 thread that exists already. This has nothing to do with the other thread.

A question to those few of us who play PC. I think this may be a tough question. Yes, I wouldn't have opened this thread if I hadn't found Red Eclipse a day ago. As for my view Cube is the best PC FPS overall, because of it's variety. It's outstanding in terms of aspects like no other FPS.

But now Cube's got a little brother that's quite a tough competition. Not only you can edit maps on it, but you can also customize gameplay, weapons and matches to your likings. There are a few additions, but a few things got removed.

I think it is down to Cube and Red Eclipse, but of course I would list other FPS too just for the sake of it.

Here's some aspects that make for a good battle. It looks like RedEclipse wins, but Cube has gotten crucial aspects that lack in Red Eclipse.

Cube:
-Scripting triggers in the editor
-Easier editing with menus
-Environment mapping for reflection
-Selectable player models and overall solid graphics
-Easy entity editing with scrolling + commands
-An actual campaign with different types of monsters.

Red Eclipse:
-New material: Nogravity.
-More gun, more fun!
-Improved weapon handling + weapon customization.
-Gameplay parameter editing, about 100 global variables to edit.
-New textures.
-Compatibility with all Cube maps + New maps.
-New interesting gameplay modes.
-More interaction with environment.

So may the battle begin. Although I actually would dare to consider Red Eclipse as a part of Cube - or add-on. Because it's based on Cube. Which would mean that Cube just got even better. lol
What do you think?

Doom would come in second for me, it was a milestone in every aspect and it's still awesome. All the WADs alter the replay value to the maximum, for both MP and SP.
