All PS3 FC2 mappers are invited from cdeezgames, FCMaps and TGRealm to collaborate on a new type of co-op! Basically any number of mappers (individual mappers or co-op teams) welcome to create connecting maps for the series, Strategic Alliance.

Idea is that each map should represent a certain type of tactical challenge for players as each connected map is hosted in succession. The goal is to emulate the single-player experience of working your way through a large map, area by area, facing different challenges requiring different tactical and weapon skills. As an example, the first map could be a 'run n gun' map, followed by a 'sniper map', followed by a 'stunt map' and so on...

Here are some ideas for several types of tactical maps (please suggest more if needed)..

Arena Map - Primarily for DM and TDM, a small-med symmetrical enclosed arena with lots of random cover.

Exploration Map - Large CTD and UPR map with creative landscaping and puzzle routes.

Platform Map - Large CTD & UPR multi-leveled map that requires running jumps and vehicle stunts to reach other areas of map.

Skirmish Map - Small to medium sized team based map with alternate paths of varying difficulty. Ideal for two teams to face-off for fast gameplay.

Sniper Map - Large arena style map for DM & TDM, very little cover or concealment.

Tactical Stealth Map - Med-large sized team based map with 3-4 alternate paths and flanking routes of varying difficulty to reach other base. Lots of cover and concealment. Ideal for CTD & UPR.

Weapons Class Map - Pick a weapons class and build a map that supports each weapon in that class.

To get started, we'll need your suggestions on a custom 'SA' logo that would appear in each map, helping to connect the maps. Anyone wishing to create a custom logo from inventory pieces, please respond to this thread and we'll get your pics loaded up.

Another thing to consider is communicating with the other map teams to see who's map might be easiest to create a visual connection to. But there's always the option to include a road out, helicopter, anything to suggest a transport out of the map.

While the logo is getting worked out, we can get started on making maps for this series. Tell us what type of tactical map you'd like to submit and who will be working on it. This event will be a great way to get together with other FC2 mappers from each of the forums to create something amazing.

Long live the Alliance!!

Let me know when you have more information on this.  This sounds like an interesting contest.

So the logo could be in each map for the Strategic Alliance and have a number with it to let people know which order the map takes place in.  There should be a spectator camera that points towards a word in each map, that word should be the type of strategy needed to be successful on the map.

Or maybe even something like this...

You could have 5 different maps or so and the middle one could be completely even on fighting grounds.
Lets say that 1 is more favored towards the Red team and 5 is more favored towards the Yellow team.
Now lets say we started out playing map 3(even playing grounds) and the Yellow team won.  The next match would take place on map 2 where it slightly favored the Red team more.  If yellow won again, it would move to 1 where the Red team has an advantage.

Anyways, I could speculate ideas all day..  Let me know when this is being voted on or is decided on.
