Ok the Theme for February is Big Fooking Bridge.

I would say as long as the map involves a large bridge of some sort then it will be fine.
Any size - with any modes.

There are no other restrictions - as long as some sort of Bridge plays a big part in the map.

I will look around some other maps from the database here and post a few pics from other bridge maps for ideas, this can be a place to discuss ideas and to name your map when finished, also an area to hype your creation.

We can organise playtestiing or even fault finding / beta previews of maps if people want to show others their work in progress.

Those interested can help with hosting the maps when finished.

I will also be checking around other sites to se if anyone submits a map at another area.
Once a map has been handed over to me (or when I get the details to download the map from the Ubisoft servers) I will contact the Author and let them know that I have their map.

Any changes to the map will be allowed up until Midnight on February the 28th - Time Zone is (GMT)

Thanks again for helping to choose the Theme.

Lets make this a fun and happy contest - Good Luck.

Any feedback or suggestions is welcome - discuss things here.

Ok this is the progress so far with the Theme.
As far as I am aware all these maps below are the Finished and Published versions, so if you want to check out the competition feel free.

This is shaping up with some really quality and heavy hitting maps - It is going to be a hard one to call when separating the maps, And there will be some more to come.

Actually thats just a little trick for the photo. I selected those pieces in the editor, then saved while they were selected. It shows up still selected in the photo.  Wink

I had to do something because my bridge isn't near as fancy as yours and the other ones.  Grin

Nice trick.  I noticed Clapp had a yellow house in one of his screen shots.  I didn't add 2 to 2.
Controllers are supreme in FC2.  I couldn't use a mouse if my life depended on it in this game.

These authors below should be submitting maps sometime in the next 8 days.

g3az66
bongobreak
Fallen Champ

RACEKARR

My entry is a long way off, I am at around 20% I just put a tunnel under the middle of the bridge with a way down from all 4 sides or from the central area of the bridge.

This is good turnout.  Almost 14 bridge maps entered.  How much longer is there for the entrants?

No.14 - Based on London Tower Bridge

I am unsure if it is finished or still been tested but its currently available on the Ubi servers for download.

INDESTRUCTABLE by RACEKARR

People have until Midnight on February the 28th (GMT)
We then have a fortnight to decide the winner.

While judging is going on another site can decide if they want to run a Theme contest and take charge.
Deciding Theme and Entry Dates and stuff.

I got an idea for the next TOTM!

http://trak.in/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/7-wonders-of-the-world.jpg : take a look at these pictures. maybe the next TOTM could be based on the wonders of the world! all wonders on those pictures can be made. 21 possible options.

this theme could really be interesting! it would be quite amazing to see what could be made in the editor Smiley

please consider this as a theme for march  Smiley

Interesting enough.  But the pyramids would be way too large of a map.  A lot of the others look interesting though.

I would probably pick Petra. or i might take a try on Machu Picchu or Alhambra.
But yeah, pyramids of giza would be too large. but the chichen Itza pyramid is possible. its not very large. and you could make lots of hidden passages inside Cheesy

Another exciting idea, that you might think is a little wierd, is "Norwegian landscape".. well you know, i'm from norway, so not that odd that I would've said that, but take a peek at these pictures and you see what i meen by exciting Cheesy

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/94/217690082_c06d57fe96.jpg  that one is called "prekestolen" which means "the pulpit" i think Tongue
http://www.nordlicht.ch/reisen/regionen/molde/bilder/trollstigen.jpg  this is "trollstigen", directly translated = troll-ladder
http://www.slowtrav.com/blog/chiocciola/Geirangerfjord.jpg  Geirangerfjorden. Norway is the only country in the world with fjords like that Cheesy made when the huge icething that covered all of norway moved. rocks that stuck underneath and within the ice digged out the landscape. there are actually rocks from norway found in england, thats how huge that ice was Tongue

of course, that would be quite a difficult theme, since the only people that knows anything about norway on this site is me and Saxc. Tongue but it would be cool to make a map like that at least.. Smiley now, thats enough of the norwegian history for now.. Wink

Nice scenery, but I think it would be sniperville to the max with that kind of view.

You seriously get to wake up and see that kind of scenery every day?
That's awesome.  I used to live up north, but I live in flat @$$ Houston, TX.  There isn't even a hill around where I live.
