The B3E leg of the multi forum comp will be a little different. I shall be running 2 parts.

Showcase
     For all the mappers out there who want to let rip and make a totally creative/visual or whatever styled masterpiece that playability has no meaning on this part is for you. No worries about lag or spawn placement just go for it.

For the Showcase section there is NO theme just total creative free reign.

Playability
     For all the mappers that want to make a map that playability means everything then here is the place for you. Minimal lag everything works as its meant to, balanced layout fair team play etc this is what matters here.

For the Playability section the theme options are as follows.

FC2 Single Player Mode Styled Natural -
Use the terrain editor and pieces to make a map that could look part of the single player game. If it would fit in with any part of the single player map then its ok.

Big Bada Boom -
Explosive missile firing cannon lauching madness. If it goes bang big style then its ok. Only limit is no more than 4 grid squares in total playable area to give the explosive something/someone to hit.

Highrise -
The only way is up. The challenge here is to make a tall minimum 5 floored structure that plays fair and smooth. No limit on size horizontally but remember lag here will count against the map. This will be a good test of using occlusion blocks to keep things working well.

Up to the mappers to decide so lets have your choices ready to make a start. I will check across the forums to collect the votes and update them as often as i can.

Mappers are welcome to do a map for both sections of the comp if they wish.

So the theme is Natural.  Something that 'could' have been in the single player game.

Well, I've started my map for this theme.  I'm several hours into it and haven't even finished brushing the scenery yet.

I'd love to have my entry done by then but... It ain't gonna happen.

I've got the layout and some detailing done but there's tons more to do.
Mine's gonna be Urban with the singleplayer style. It's turning out to be similar to Ubi's maps but I'm gonna try and make it more interesting gameplay-wise. LOL

@Bongo: lol  I usually perform best when I'm tired. That's when I can't concentrate on more than one thing and I'm totally zoned in on the game. I do a lot less thinking and more reacting.
Only works for getting awesome kills though, when I don't think about it, I do less sneaky tactics or well-placed strategies.

Just got back from the Houston's draft party so I'll be starting the game about 15-30min late.

eerrt!  sorry, drinking more, friends came by.  But I'll try to host the map within the next 2 hours.

im working on something a little like Pala and Mosate Seleao. the two main story towns, so far i have 3 out of four sides lined and a small back drop in. the streets are wider than the actual ones,but there are tons of back alleys you can travel down. its about 4 grids playable zone. but im already at 27000 and i havent finished 2 grids or the third line. itll be hard to fit it all in, however, i have no lag for some odd reason.

whens the deadline?
