Thanks to whoever told Fallen Champ about it on FCMAPS...
Original topic:  http://fcmaps.net/p/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?89084.last
USB config topic: http://www.fcmaps.net/p/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?88203

Ok 1st select Ranked Match and Create Match.
Now click on Map Cycle, It will load up the Ranked Map List.
Right here is the trick - at this point when the map list is ready - Simply insert a USB Stick which has been configured to work on your Xbox 360 and that's it.

Now to configure the USB stick...
This is very simple & quick to do.
1. Go into System Settings
2. Select Memory
3. Select USB Storage Device
4. Select Configure Now
5. Select YES to Configure your USB Stick
6. Wait while the 360 configures your USB stick.
7. Select OK once configured
8. You will see a picture showing your USB device and how much free space it has
9. There are currently no games on this newly configured memory stick
10. Now the USB stick is ready.

It will say refreshing map list now.
Once that screen refreshes you will get access to all the published maps on your HD for Ranked Play
Anyone wanting to join will have to download the map as normal and this should be it.

A very nice find for whoever discovered it - It should allow more hours of fun now in that mode - More people hosting in Ranked and possibly more people returning to the game - A win win situation if anything.

They found out how to get Player Maps in Ranked Matches on PC a long time ago.

Its a win win situation - As for PS3 does this work on that console?

_____________

A definite win win situation.  Somebody please try this on PS3 and see if they can get it to work.

If this works at all, I'll be learning how to do it and then trying to see if I can duplicate it on the ps3.

It works. I tested it with The Govener other night.
All you gotta do is take out your USB stick and put it back in. The game will refresh the map list and will now include all maps, not just the ones Ubi picked. Apparently if you try to change the map rotation list after selecting maps and doing this trick, it screws up and won't refresh a second time or include the "Not ranked" maps. You'll have to restart the server I think.

Due to the nature of this glitch (requiring an external storage device) and that PS3 doesn't use anything except the HDD, I don't think this trick will work on PS3.

The ps3 can use a USB stick though, so I'll have to try it out.

But I don't think you can actually read from it in-game is what I'm saying. FC2 doesn't use it as an active storage device.

I could be wrong. Smiley

Oh. So the 360 is reading from the stick in game?
There are probably no options to read from USB on ps3 in game huh?

Pretty much. Since the PS3 only reads from the HDD in game, I just don't think it'll work.

The only thing that needs to be done is force the game to refresh the map list. Yanking out the HDD can't be done so unless anyone has any ideas, I think PS3 is out of luck. Not that it matters all that much since ranked mode is a giant steaming pile of boot-if-you're-not-on-the-host's-team-and-are-doing-well bullshit.
